The City of Brussels is much more than its historic centre. As well as the Pentagon, it takes in Laeken, Neder-Over-Heembeek and Haren to the north and part of the Avenue Louise area: nearly 196,000 residents, four postcodes (1000, 1020, 1120 and 1130) and just about every type of home the capital has to offer. New windows for an attic flat in the Marolles and for a house with a garden in Haren are two very different jobs, and we prepare each one on its own terms. The Pentagon: heritage, upper floors and co-ownership

In the centre, some buildings are listed or on the heritage inventory, and most homes are flats. So two questions come before any quote: can the look of the façade change, and who has to agree? For a protected building or a flat in a co-ownership, ask the City’s planning department (urbanisme) and your building manager (syndic) before choosing a model. If you rent, the decision is your landlord’s, and you’ll need their written agreement. We prepare the technical documents they’ll ask for: dimensions, frame sections and proposed colours. Slim aluminium frames and wood-effect uPVC stay close to the original joinery, while good double or triple glazing makes the home noticeably quieter.

To the north: Laeken, Neder-Over-Heembeek and Haren

In the north of the municipality, the scenery changes. Laeken mixes townhouses, terraced houses and blocks of flats around the royal estate and the large parks. Neder-Over-Heembeek and Haren have kept a village feel in places, with more single-family houses and gardens. Requests there more often cover a complete set:

• uPVC or aluminium windows, with double or triple glazing;
• an insulated front door;
• a sliding patio door onto the terrace or garden.

In a single-family house, replacing every opening at once lets you match colours and hardware, and deal with airtightness consistently. If your budget means spreading the works, we start with the living areas or the coldest façades, keeping the same model for later.

Access, organisation and grants

From Overijse, 15 km away, we reach the City via the Ring or the E411.
