Auderghem is one of the closest Brussels municipalities to our head office in Overijse – 9 km as the crow flies, straight down the E411. That makes the measuring visit easy to book, and our fitters don’t have to cross the whole city to reach you. It is a green, residential place backing onto the Sonian Forest, with family houses and blocks of flats from several eras. Between the Sonian Forest and Rouge-Cloître

Much of Auderghem is wooded, from the Rouge-Cloître site to the edge of the forest. Houses that look onto tree-filled gardens get less direct sun and take longer to warm up in spring and autumn, which matters when you choose glazing. Triple glazing cuts heat loss on shaded or north-facing walls; good double glazing is often enough where the sun pours in. So we decide room by room rather than fitting the same glass throughout. Trees have a practical side too: leaves, pollen and damp leave more grime on the glass and in sliding-door tracks. Easy-clean frames and well-drained thresholds save a lot of hassle over the years.

Houses, villas and flats

Whether it’s an interwar house or a more recent villa, the job often covers every opening: windows, front door and sometimes a large sliding patio door onto the garden. uPVC remains the most popular choice for its balance of insulation and price; aluminium comes into its own for large glazed areas and slim frames. In a flat, the co-ownership rules usually fix the colour and design of the windows, so check them before the visit. If neighbours on your landing are thinking about the same work, a joint proposal often makes it easier to get approval at the general meeting – and keeps the façade uniform. Renting? You’ll need your landlord’s written agreement first.
